Luna is earnest in protecting our old growth forests +
natural habitat for native wildlife.
The Wilderness Society has campaigned for 40+ years
to protect Australia’s native forests and the animals that live there.
Without organisations like The Wilderness Society, we would be unaware of the
immense destruction to our precious forests, eco-systems + native fauna.
We applaud & support their grassroots campaigns — empowering us to help
protect our environment.
18 years ago we were at a World Environment Day rally in Melbourne.
The passion and power will stay with us forever.
“Don’t leave here thinking you can’t do anything” was the message.
Back then it seemed like a hopeless cause, but we were inspired
… had an idea to knit a TREE blanket, donating profits to their foundation.
Our artwork was scratchy, but the roots and trunk were strong
– so is our loyalty.
We donate to The Wilderness Society every year ... since 2005.

BUNURONG - LANDS OF THE BOON WURRUNG PEOPLE
“I was born and bred near this precious place and feel a very strong connection
to the land + sea of Westernport Bay on the Mornington Peninsula.”
Beverley Armstrong – founder of Luna Gallery.
So many in this community are doing their best to protect this valuable part of our
world – it’s massively important Ramsar Wetlands + fragile eco-system.
It is home to Weedy Sea Dragons, Australian fur seals and a wide range of
migratory birds.
Wetlands are the most biodiverse ecosystems on this planet. These Coastal
wetlands form part of the internationally significant Western Port Ramsar site.
In March 2021, the Minister for Planning
rejected AGL's proposed Crib Point gas terminal,
saying it would result in “unacceptable environmental effects”
to the internationally significant Westernport Bay.
This was after 2 years of campaigning & fighting by Save Westernport,
Environment Victoria, Bunurong Elders, Victorian National Parks Association,
local shires & MANY business owners, conservation groups
& community members.
We fiercely opposed AGL & APA. At times it was grim & terrifying.
We give massive thanks to Save Westernport & Environment Victoria
for showing us how to fight...collectively...and with integrity.

WILLUM WARRAIN - ' HOME BY THE SEA '
Willum Warrain Aboriginal Associations is a cultural gathering space
for Aboriginal peoples to come together
on the Mornington Peninsula.
A place of hope and healing,
culture and connection,
being and belonging for mob.
The Bush Nursery is awesome - specialising in local indigenous plants
from the Mornington Peninsula. They not only grow & sell their plants, but share
cultural knowledge ... as apparently ... every plant has its own dreaming.
We are so lucky to have this amazing, welcoming, inspiring & wise
indigenous culture hub & support their vision & community.
